Deputy Public Prosecutor Ahmad Fauzulutfi Suriani appeared for the prosecution.

The allegedly forged signature is believed to belong to a family member of a well-known property developer and prominent businessman who passed away in 2020.

The accused was first charged on Oct 23, 2024, under Section 465 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of two years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both, upon conviction.

After claiming trial, the court allowed the accused to be released on cash bail of RM2,000 with one local surety.

According to the charge, the accused is alleged to have falsified a signature on an Official Register (Form 13, prescribed under Subregulation 14(2) of the Commissioners for Oaths Rules 2018) at premises along Jalan Chan Bee Kiew, off Jalan Padungan, on Nov 18, 2020.

Trial dates have been fixed for April 15 and April 20. — DayakDaily
