KUCHING, Feb 21: Police have obtained an order to remand a 60-year-old farmer for four days following a hunting accident at Bengoh forest reserves.
The remand order against the suspect was issued by Magistrate’s Court judge Mohd Syukri Mokhtar until Feb 25 to assist police investigations.
The suspect had allegedly shot his hunting buddy by accident at around 6.30am on Feb 20 and was arrested by the police a few hours later.
A home-made shotgun was seized from the suspect. According to the suspect, the shotgun belonged to his late grandfather.
The 67-year-old victim, from Kampug Taba Sait Resettlement Scheme, Jalan Puncak Borneo, suffered injuries to hid abdomen and right thigh.
The case is being investigated under Section 8(A) of the Arm Act 1960. — DayakDaily
