Cops nab three jobless individuals in drug raid

KUCHING, Sept 5: Three unemployed men suspected of drug abuse were arrested the police during a raid at Jalan Bunga Tongkeng, here, yesterday.

Sarawak Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) chief, Supt Hasnir Abdul Hamid, said the police raided a house at around 11.45am.

“During the raid, we found a black plastic bag containing a transparent bag with eight smaller plastic bags inside. Each of the smaller bags contained crystal-like substance believed to be syabu or methamphetamine,” he said in a statement.

The drugs confiscated weighted 6.88 grams with a value of about RM700.

The trio, aged 23 to 26 years old, were arrested and had their urine tested, which came positive for the said drug.

They are being investigated under Section 39A (1) and Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — DayakDaily
