KUCHING, Oct 24: A 46-year-old local man was arrested after allegedly committing mischief by damaging several display items at a sales office along Jalan Datuk Tawi Sli here on Wednesday (Oct 22).
In a statement, Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed that a report was received from a 23-year-old woman regarding the incident, which supposedly took place at around 12.30pm.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect acted aggressively and damaged office property after becoming dissatisfied with the service he received from the staff at the premises,” he said.
He added that police from the Sungai Maong station managed to detain the suspect on the same day, who is being held in custody, with a remand order approved for four days from Oct 24 to 27.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of up to two years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both upon conviction.
