KUCHING, Nov 23: The ‘Coping with the Pandemic’ webinar, the first of a three-series episode has concluded successfully on Nov 17.
The webinar is in line with the recent launching of Sport Sarawak, which aims to make Sarawak a sporting powerhouse by 2030.
It will be followed by a second episode focusing on ‘Sport High Performance’. which will be held in 2022.
Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) chief executive officer Dr Ong Kong Swee said that the hybrid webinar presented a wide of variety of topics in high performing sports and sports sciences such as mental health, mode of recovery, performance, strategic performance, nutrition and much more.
“It is a great opportunity for knowledge sharing benefitting athletes, coaches, industry players and those directly and indirectly involved in the sport industry,” he said during the programme.
The webinar saw renowned and international speakers such as Dr John Pates of Aspire Academy Qatar, Troy Engle of Sport Singapore, Malaysian Track Cycling head John Beasley and Ratchaburi Mitrphol Football Club’s head of Physical and Sports Science, John Kobiela.
The hybrid webinar also included a panel discussion by Malaysian diver Datuk Pandelela Rinong Pamg and Malaysian paralympic powerlifter Bonnie Bunyau Gustin moderated by Malaysian TV Host Ben Ibrahim on their experience as Olympians.
Dr Ong further called on participants to make full use of the knowledge obtained from the webinar in their respective fields. — DayakDaily
