KUCHING, Nov 1: The contractor responsible for drainage upgrade works at the Skim Penempatan Semula Stapok Batu Kawah has been issued a final warning due to substandard performance.

Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Tan Kai stressed that MPP will not tolerate contractors who fail to meet or comply with the contractual requirements set by the Council.

“During a recent assessment, it was found that the drainage works did not adequately address on-site issues, leading to significant water stagnation,” he stated today.

Tan added that MPP has instructed the contractor to correct the issues immediately, with payment withheld until the necessary improvements are satisfactorily completed.

Meanwhile, Tan reminded all contractors engaged with MPP to strictly follow their contractual obligations.

“Non-compliance will result in serious consequences, including termination of the contract, legal action for breach of contract, and blacklisting from future Council project tenders,” he warned. — DayakDaily
