Continuous rains flood low-lying areas in Serian, situation under control

KUCHING, Jan 8: Continuous rainfall since early this morning, attributed to the Northeast Monsoon, caused flooding in several low-lying areas of Kampung Belimbing A along Jalan Serian–Sri Aman today.

The Serian Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) conducted a monitoring patrol at around 9.55am to assess the situation.

Floodwaters were recorded at approximately one foot deep on the road, with water entering some houses up to knee level.

However, the situation remained under control and no evacuations were carried out, as water levels were reported to be receding by about 11am. — DayakDaily
