SIBU, Feb 22: A community recreation park costing RM250,000 will be built at Lorong 8, Jalan Wawasan here.

Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government II Michael Tiang said today that the park is made possible through an allocation from the Pelawan Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) grant and Angela Enterprise which had been appointed as the project’s contractor.

“The construction of the park is based on the demand of the residents in the neighbourhood.

“The work that will be carried out includes the installation of various facilities and also the construction of concrete paths,” said Tiang who is also the Pelawan assemblyman.

He requested the residents to help him monitor the project to ensure that it can be completed according to schedule.

“I hope residents will inform me or my service centre if there is any problem. You play an important role in helping me monitor the project for the benefit of all,” he said, adding that construction had started when he visited the site recently.

He said the project is expected to be completed this June. — DayakDaily
