Collaborations in renewable energy discussed during Sarawak Premier’s visit to South Korea

SEOUL, May 21: Various aspects of collaboration between Sarawak and South Korea were discussed to enhance cooperation between both parties in the renewable energy space during Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s work visit in South Korea today.

According to the Sarawakku Facebook page today, Abang Johari began his two-day work visit with a meeting with the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE), represented by its deputy minister Lee Ho-hyeon.

Accompanying the Premier during the one-hour meeting were the Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Sarawak Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, and Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Hussain.

Later in the afternoon, Abang Johari and members of his entourage were taken on a tour of the Korea South-East Power Company (KOEN) Yongheung power plant on the Yongheung island South of the capital city. — DayakDaily
