CM: Sarawak is like a beautiful woman wooed by many suitors

SRI AMAN, Dec 1: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg likens Sarawak to a beautiful woman whom everyone is trying their luck to court.

According to Abang Johari, Sarawak is a great, harmonious and peaceful state and others are just jealous of that fact.

He opined that is why there much slander making the rounds to break the unity which has been fostered all this while among all Sarawakians.


“We are likened to a beautiful woman, and everyone is trying their luck, even the married men too, and from the way it looks, those from Kuala Lumpur are trying to take it away from us,” Abang Johari said when attending the ground-breaking ceremony for the Lingga Waterfront and the GPS Lingga Service Centre here, today.

Abang Johari also drew comparisons between political turmoil on the peninsula and the peaceful situation on this side of the South China Sea.

He said Sarawakians are a peaceful people and do not like to quarrelst among themselves, pointing out that the Sarawak government even dealt with the communists in a peaceful manner.

“As the Chief Minister, I am for the Ibans, Chinese, Malays, Bidayuhs, Melanau and all the races in Sarawak.

“I don’t take sides, I am for everyone, and I thank God that we are all living in a peace,” he said. — DayakDaily
