KUCHING, May 15: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg presented monetary aid of over RM20,000 to mosques and suraus under his Satok state constituency today.

The donation, benefitting 13 Muslim houses of worship, was to support their religious programmes and other activities during Ramadhan.

“It is an annual donation to support the mosques and suraus to carry out programmes such as the recitation of the Quran and other ‘ibadah’ (worship) activities during the fasting month.

“It is not much but we hope they can carry out activities to strengthen our ibadah,” Abang Johari, who is also Satok assemblyman, told reporters after presenting the donation at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
