CM: Just follow what the MACC says

KUCHING, July 4: Any party or individual who has received funds from the scandal-ridden 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) are urged to cooperate with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Abang Openg today advised them to “follow the authorities’ instructions.”

The chief minister was commenting on a call by MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull to all holders of frozen bank accounts to cooperate with the authorities.

“I don’t see any issue with this. Just abide by the instructions of the authorities,” he said to reporters after launching the Integrity and Innovation Week of the Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resources today.

MACC recently froze 408 bank accounts with a total of RM1.1 billion to facilitate investigation into the 1MDB saga. One of these accounts belonged to Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP). — DayakDaily
