KUCHING, Oct 10: The federal government has announced a Bantuan Khas Kewangan (Special Financial Assistance) of RM500 for all civil servants under Grade 56 and below, including contract appointees, to be disbursed in early March 2026 in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the special assistance comes following the implementation of Phase 2 of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA), which will take effect in January 2026 after the restructuring of civil servants’ salaries.

He added that the 2026 salary adjustments, involving an additional RM18 billion, together with the continued rollout of the Rahmah Cash Aid (STR) and SARA monthly aid, reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to improving the welfare of civil servants.

“The government has also approved a RM250 special financial aid for all government pensioners, including veterans with and without pensions, which will be paid out at the same time,” he said when tabling Budget 2026 in Parliament today.

In addition, Anwar announced a RM500 special contribution for 70,000 KAFA teachers, takmir teachers, imams, bilals, and mosque personnel including caretakers (tok siak), assistants (noja), and attendants (marbut), involving a total allocation of RM35 million, as a gesture of appreciation for their dedicated service to the community. — DayakDaily
