KUCHING, Sept 15: The ‘Cinta Malaysia Jiwa Merdeka Segulai Sejalai’ concert drew in thousands to Sri Aman Waterfront on Saturday (Sept 14).
According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, performances from various ethnic groups, namely by the Kampung Hulu Malay Cultural Heritage Association with their Burdah performance, Bukit Begunan Gendang Pampat Dau Association, as well as creative ethnic dances entranced the crowds.
Among others, the audience members were also treated to an energetic Sape performance and an emotional poetry recitation that stirred a sense of patriotism and unity, followed by a lively Ngajat dance inspired by the Ruai and Kenyalang birds by Dion Das Louis, also known as ‘The Little Bornean Birdie’ and various others local and national artists.
Graced by Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Sarawak Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, who is also the Minister-In-Charge of the Sarawak-level Malaysia Day Celebration 2024, a spectacular fireworks display marked the grand finale of the ‘Cinta Malaysia Jiwa Merdeka Segulai Sejalai’ concert.
Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Sarawak, Datuk Snowdan Lawan; Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry, and Investment Sarawak, Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh; and Sri Aman Member of Parliament, Dato’ Sri Doris Sophia Brodi, were among those present. — DayakDaily
