Kuching Roman Catholic Archbishop Simon Poh will share the reflection on the theme, while the Bishop of the Anglican Church in Sarawak and Brunei, the Rt Revd Datuk Danald Jute, will lead the blessing with all heads of churches at the end of the programme.

“The order of the service will cover different themes of Scripture Readings and Prayers, and the recitation of the Holy Scriptures and intercessory will be in English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, Bidayuh Jagoi/Bukar Sadong, Tamil, Kenyah, and Iban,” said ACS secretary-general Elder Ambrose Linang in the press release.

He added that preceding the readings of scriptures and prayers, the hoisting of the Jalur Gemilang and Sarawak flags will be carried out by federal and State ministers, respectively.

The service will also feature a combined choir led by Grace Boniface Deyoi accompanied by pianists Daniel Steven Lugo and Tristian Daley and sape players Jennifer Santan and Isidore Micah.

“During the service, there will also be prayers for the Sarawak Head of State and Sarawak government so that they may continue to work harmoniously in upholding our religious freedom, justice, liberty, political stability, unity, and social inclusivity.

“All Christian members of the civil service and leaders of interfaith groups such as Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, and Bahai have been invited to attend the service in the spirit of ‘Segulai, Sejalai’.

“Let us continue breaking down walls and forming bridges with all Sarawakians of different faiths.”

Meanwhile, the press release added that ACS branches throughout Sarawak will hold similar services at their respective branches. — DayakDaily
