KUCHING, June 17: Chung Hua Middle School No 1 (CHMS1) students achieved a high passing rate of 91.82 per cent in the Sijil Peperiksaan Malaysia (SPM) 2021 Examination.
According to a statement of its principal Yap Chong Guan, CHMS1 has achieved significant improvement in the passing rate in 2021.
Of the total 159 students taking the examination, 146 students passed while over 33 students scored a minimum of 5As, with two of them scoring excellent results of 10As.
He further pointed out that 104 students obtained an A in Mathematics, which is another high passing rate of 95.57 per cent.
The following table is the comparison of the pass rate for English Language and Bahasa Melayu for two consecutive years:

Chong said while CHMS1 practices double-track systems (both national exam and UEC exam), Senior Middle Two students are encouraged to take SPM Examination before beginning their last year of schooling.
He commented that SPM preparatory classes are conducted every Saturday to guide and prepare Senior One and Two students who are taking the SPM examination.
He added that CHMS1 students have been coping well with the two systems despite having to overcome the challenges.
He congratulated all SPM takers for their achievement and expressed his gratitude to all the teachers for their efforts and dedication. — DayakDaily
