MIRI, Dec 24: A two-vehicle collision that occurred early this morning near Simpang Bakas at Jalan Pan Borneo, Bekenu, has left one man dead.
According to Batu Niah Fire station chief Rary Binjie, the collision involved a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle and a compact car.
A team of firemen responded to the crash upon receiving a distress call at 4.26am.
The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Freddy Jessey Rindy, who was sitting in the backseat of the compact car.
In addition, two others were injured, while five others in the 4WD were unharmed.
Before the collision, the 4WD was heading towards Bintulu from Miri, while the compact car was coming from the opposite direction. — DayakDaily
