KUCHING, Oct 2: The main battle for 15th General Election (GE15) would be Pakatan Harapan (PH) against the Barisan Nasional-Pakatan Nasional (BN-PN) coalition, says Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak chief Chong Chieng Jen.
He pointed out that the local opposition parties which recently form a pact, all shared one common feature, which is they are active immediately before or during the election period.
According to Chong, after the last State election, the true colours of these so-called opposition parties were exposed when all their candidates and parties went dormant.
“Now that GE15 is around the corner, these parties are suddenly reactivated.
“So hopefully the voters and Sarawakians will see through the pretense or disguise of these so-called opposition parties who are dormant during non-election times and suddenly reactivated before or during election times,” he told a press conference at the Sarawak DAP headquarters here today.
Chong who is also the Stampin MP and Padungan assemblyman, said local opposition parties standing for election would only benefit Gabungan Part Sarawak (GPS).
He added in order to avoid this, there should not be any vote-splitting.
Yesterday (Oct 1), three locally based opposition parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) pledging that they will not clash with each other for seats in the upcoming GE15. — DayakDaily
