Chong: Quite impossible for DAP Sarawak to work with PSB in Sarawak election

KUCHING, Nov 6: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak has refused to cooperate with Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) in the coming 12th Sarawak election over what it termed to be “questionable and suspicious” financial backing.

DAP Sarawak chairman Chong Chieng Jen said apart from this reason, the operation, ideology and modus operandi of the offshoot party remained the same as that of Barisan Nasional (BN).

“Because of that, I think it becomes a bit hard and difficult for us to come to a cooperation with PSB.

“Of course having said that, politics sometimes is about making the impossible, possible.

“But as it is right now, it is quite impossible because of the (PSB’s) coloured and suspicious financial backing,” he told a press conference held in Sibu which was broadcast live on its social media page today.

As such, Chong who is also Kota Sentosa incumbent added that DAP Sarawak will have to take on both Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and PSB.

In November 2020, it was reported that Chong, who is also Sentosa incumbent, said there was a possibility that DAP could work together with PSB.

PSB president Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh also indicated that the party was willing to work with other parties that share goals in their political struggle to help the people of the state. — DayakDaily
