Chinese company Kibing Group intends to expand solar glass manufacturing project in Sarawak

KUCHING, Aug 28: Kibing Group (M) Sdn Bhd, a China listed company that manufactures glass and solutions provider, has expressed its intention to invest in a solar glass manufacturing project in Sarawak.

According to a press release, Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also the Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) met with Kibing Group Chief Executive Officer Guan Ming to discuss the matter today.

During the meeting, Guan Ming said the company that has international operations including in Negeri Sembilan and Sabah, is currently considering its expansion to Sarawak.

Following this, Awang Tengah welcomes the proposal, stating that the Sarawak government will facilitate Kibing’s journey as this industry has a long value chain from mining and processing of the raw materials to the manufacturing of solar glass.

In addition, he said solar products are highly demanded as the world is transitioning to low carbon and green economy. — DayakDaily
