SIBU, Jan 23: Two children had to walk 500 metres to seek help from longhouse folk after they were involved in a motorcycle accident in Bintangor on Wednesday night which killed their father.
The deceased was identified as Samada Beti, 58.
State Fire and Rescue Services Department (Bomba) in a statement said the children, aged 5 and 13, and their father were on their way home to Sibu from Julau when the motorcycle they were riding pillion on was involved in an accident at KJD Road.
Bomba received an emergency call at 9.30pm and immediately despatched an officer and seven firemen to the scene.
“Paramedics from the hospital pronounced the victim died on the spot from serious head injury,” it added. He was also injured in the chest. —DayakDaily
