KUCHING, Jan 25: Centexs Commercial is set to shift into high gear this year to help local entrepreneurs, especially the B40 group, elevate their products and brands as well as expand their reach into wider markets so as to grow their business and thrive in this digital era.

Centexs Commercial general manager Shahren Yusri emphasised that it is committed to helping and supporting Sarawak-based small businesses in promoting and marketing their local products.

“Our local entrepreneurs, most operating on a small scale, offer a wide variety of interesting and quality products but they do not know where to market them.

“Our focus is to improve their branding and packaging and exploit their products or what we called local heritage products statewide and beyond through our collaborations with our strategic partners such as MyDin supermarkets,” he said.

Shahren, who led a delegation from Centexs Commercial comprising its Media and Public Relations unit head Malissa Sahari, Gallery Division assistant manager Nur Syahidatul Fatehah and personal assistant Dayang Laila Fahana Abang Azman, highlighted this during a courtesy call on the DayakDaily team at its office in TT3, Tabuan Tranquility here today.

With Covid-19 restrictions eased, he shared that Centexs Commercial will be shifting into high gear this year to carry out more plans and initiatives.

It is currently in discussion with several partners including Malaysia Design Development Centre (DDEC) to focus on Sarawak-made products and expand its reach to wider domestic markets.

“They are looking into hand-crafted fashion products like our weaved baskets and handbags to be marketed in one of its platforms through six airports in Malaysia. We are trying to get this rolling in the second quarter of the year,” he said.

Apart from that, he added that they will also enhance promotion on its Sara-X mobile app that helps businesses or entrepreneurs bring their services to people’s doorsteps, smart home for offices and homes as well as smart agriculture. — DayakDaily
