Cassidy Morris assumes role as new Sarawak JKR director, succeeding Richard Tajan

KUCHING, May 31: Cassidy Morris has been appointed as the new director of the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR), taking over from Datu Richard Tajan.

According to a report by Sarawak JKR, the handover of duties ceremony took place at its headquarters yesterday (May 30).

In his speech, Richard expressed his gratitude to all department staff for the cooperation and support that has been given to him, and hopes the same shall be extended to Cassidy.

Based on a press release issued today, Cassidy started working as a civil engineer at JKR Samarahan Division from 1998 until 2008 before being appointed as Divisional Engineer in Saratok and Sri Aman between 2008 and 2017.

From 2017 until 2020, he was assigned as Regional Manager at the Central Regional Office (Sibu) of JKR Sarawak and transferred to the head office in Kuching as Project Leader and Asset Leader from 2020 to 2022.

He was then appointed as Deputy Director (Infrastructure) from 2022 until May 2024.

With experience in the field of engineering for 26 years with JKR Sarawak, the Saratok native also holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and a Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). — DayakDaily
