SPAOH, Aug 8: A total of RM13,500 in cash prizes awaits winners of the 2019 Spaoh Open Futsal Competition with the Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas Cup up for grabs.
The futsal competition which will be held from Sept 13 to 16 is open to all in the state.
According to Spaoh 2019 Futsal Open chairperson Louis Laja in a press release, as of yesterday, 43 entries from men’s teams and five from women’s teams have been received.
“The 5th edition of the tournament has received a great response and several teams participating previously also confirmed their participation.
“I am sure many talented players and futsal sports fans will flock to Spaoh at that time to seize the lucrative presents and prestigious trophies,” he said in a press statement.
The first prize for the men’s category is RM5,000 plus a trophy and medals while second prize is RM2,500 with a trophy and medals and third prize is RM1,000 cash with medals.
“In the women’s category, the winner will take home a cash prize of RM2,000, a trophy and medals while the first runner-up will win RM1,000 with a trophy and medals and the second runner-up, RM500 and medals.”
According to Louis, the registation for both categories is still open and there is no entry limit.
There is a contest entry fee of RM150 for the men’s category and RM100 for the women’s category.
Those interested must submit their registration by Sept 6, 2019 (Friday).
