KUCHING, May 28: Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates who obtained 6As or higher in the recent SPM 2023 examination are eligible to apply for the P195 Bandar Kuching and P196 Stampin Service Centres’ ‘SPM 2023 Excellent Result Prize Programme’, which rewards them with cash incentives.
According to the programme criteria, only students who live and attend school in the P195 Bandar Kuching or P196 Stampin constituencies are eligible.
Students who achieved 6As will be awarded RM200; 7As will receive RM300; 8As will receive RM500; 9As will receive RM600; and 10As and above will receive RM700.
“I want to congratulate all of the SPM graduates who received their results yesterday (May 27).
“Whether you are satisfied with your results or not, I believe you have passed a difficult exam and it is time to plan for the next stage of your education,” Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen told reporters during a press conference held today at the Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) headquarters here.
Chong, who is also Sarawak DAP chairman, said: “We would like to reward all SPM students, but the criteria is set to give those who are in our constituencies only.”
Meanwhile, Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii’s special assistant, George Lam, stated that to complete the application, simply scan the QR code on the poster and fill out the Google Form.
“The student’s IC, leave school certificate, SPM 2023 transcript, and bank statement are required documents to be submitted with the application.
“Registration will close on June 5, so those interested in applying can do so beginning today.
“Details will be posted on Stampin MP and Bandar Kuching MP’s Facebook pages,” he explained.
Additionally, Chong mentioned that a ceremony for the SPM 2023 Excellent Result Prize Programme will take place on June 15 at an education fair organised by P195 Bandar Kuching and P196 Stampin Service Centres in collaboration with the Malaysia Dynamic Community Association (MDCA). Students will receive their cash incentives during the ceremony.
The education fair will take place on June 15 at Aeroville Mall on Jalan Stutong Baru here from 1pm to 5pm.
In the meantime, MDCA chairman Paul Fong said: “This education fair includes 29 private higher learning institutions, some of which are educational consultancies.
“So, after the students receive their cash reward, they can also visit the education fair, which we believe is good for those who are going to further their studies, and there are many options for them to choose from.
“Some of the institutions that will be at the education fair are Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus, Monash University, IMU University, University of Nottingham, and other universities from Peninsular Malaysia.” — DayakDaily
