Car fire at Jalan Tabuan extinguished by owner before firefighters arrive

KUCHING, Sept 8: A car caught fire at Jalan Tabuan this afternoon but the blaze was swiftly extinguished by the vehicle’s owner before firefighters arrived.

In a TVS news report, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Operations Centre (PGO) said an emergency call was received at 12.19pm, prompting the dispatch of seven personnel from the Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) along with a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit to the scene.

“Upon arrival five minutes later, firefighters found that the fire had already been put out by the car owner,” the spokesperson said.

The team proceeded with inspection work to ensure the area was safe and free from the risk of a flare-up.

No victims were reported in the incident and the operation concluded at 12.26pm. — DayakDaily
