KUCHING, June 9: A family of four managed to escape to safety after their car caught on fire following a self-accident near Medan Hamidah, Jalan Bako, today.
According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, firefighters from Bomba Petra Jaya were deployed to the scene after receiving a call regarding the accident at 12.42am.

“The operations commander reported the family managed to get out of the vehicle before it caught on fire,” said the report.
The wife and the two children were sent to the hospital to receive further treatment following the accident.
Firefighters extinguished the flames and controlled the situation before concluding the operation at 1.15am. — DayakDaily
