Car catches fire after collision on Pan Borneo Highway near Suai

MIRI, Oct 6: A car burst into flames following a two-car collision on the Pan Borneo Niah-Bintulu road near Gelasah, Suai, early this morning.

The accident, involving a four-wheel-drive vehicle and a compact car, left the latter completely destroyed by fire.

All victims involved in the crash were reported safe, with no injuries sustained.

Firefighters from Batu Niah Station were alerted to the incident at 6.59am.

Upon arrival, they swiftly began extinguishing the fire using a hose flow and water nozzles from their machinery pumps.

The operation to control the blaze took nearly 30 minutes.

“The firefighters acted promptly to prevent the fire from spreading further. Thanks to their quick response, no lives were lost,” said Batu Niah fire station chief Rary Binjie.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation. — DayakDaily
