Car bursts into flames in Bintulu workshop

The fire damaged the car's fuel tank, back seats, and boot.

KUCHING, May 18: A car was burnt 60 per cent at a workshop at Sibiyu, Bintulu this afternoon.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), it was notified about the incident at 1.24pm and immediately despatched a team to the scene.

Upon arrival, the firefighters discovered the fire had been put out by the car owner. Bomba believes that the fire started from the fuel tank of the car as its fuel pump was being repaired.

No one was reported injured during the incident and the firefighters returned to their station after they had ensured the location was safe. — DayakDaily
