Calling for entries for Kenyalang Journalism Awards 2022, deadline on Sept 9

KUCHING, July 11: Kenyalang Journalism Awards 2022 (KJA 2022) is now receiving entries for articles published from September 1, 2021 to August 31, 2022, with the closing date for entries on September 9, 2022.

Each participant may submit a maximum of four entries including individuals or groups, via online forms.

Participants may send a digital copy (softcopy) via cloud storage or a hard copy by direct mail to Malaysia Press Institute’s (MPI) address as below:

The online form may be accessed via the MPI website starting July 1 via https://mpi.my/kja-2022.

A total of 11 categories will be contested in this year’s KJA 2022 comprising Community Journalism Well-being Award, Sustainability Report Award, Business and Economy Report Award, Journalism Award (Feature and News Writing), News Report Award, Sport News Award, Digital Economy Award, Broadcast Journalism Award, Photo Journalism Award and Photo Essay Award, as well as the Premier of Sarawak Award which offer cash prizes totalling RM250,000.

Since 2015, the Sarawak government has been the event’s main sponsor, along with gold sponsors Shell Berhad, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), and Sarawak Energy Berhad, which each contributing RM50,000.

In addition, Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will officiate at the prize-giving event and present the Premier of Sarawak Award. The event will be held on December 9, 2022 at Imperial Hotel in Miri. — DayakDaily
