KUCHING, June 27: Organisations and entrepreneurs are encouraged to participate in the Premier of Sarawak Industry Excellence Awards (PSIEA) 2023 which is returning this year with the theme “Prosperity, Inclusivity, Sustainability: Advancing Sarawak Toward 2030”.
Organised by Sarawak Business Federation (SBF), in collaboration with the Sarawak government and Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), the closing date for the PSIEA 2023 is on July 10, 2023 (Monday).
During the launching event on June 22, SBF president Dato Sri Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg said the the awards ceremony is held every two years, starting from 2017, and the participating organisations of the PSIEA will have the opportunity to represent Sarawak at the national Anugerah Kecemerlangan Industri (AKI) administered by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti).
The participation of these organisations will be divided into four categories – micro, small, medium and large.
Using the evaluation criteria of the Malaysia Business Excellence Framework (MBEF), which is the same criteria used for AKI, participating organisations will be scored, and each category will be selected to receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards.
“Up till now, 64 companies have been awarded this recognition. This awards programme will identify the best practices of organisations in Sarawak that have contributed to the State’s economic development.
“Furthermore, these outstanding organisations are expected to serve as reference models, injecting motivation and fostering healthy competition within the industries in Sarawak, in particular,” he said in a media release issued following the launching ceremony at a hotel here.
The ceremony was graced by Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment Datuk Dr Malcom Mussen Lamoh who represented Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.
The Business Excellence initiative is a practical and holistic approach to achieving excellence in all aspects of organisational management, with a focus on improving organisational productivity. Business Excellence is capable of assisting organisations of any size in evaluating, identifying gaps, and taking necessary actions to enhance overall organizational performance.
This year, Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (Alliance Bank) will be the main partner for PSIEA 2023.
