KUCHING, Dec 11: Buy@Home Malaysia and Plaza Merdeka kicked off a strategic partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today.

Buy@Home Malaysia director Amy Tang in a press statement today said this mutually beneficial collaboration allows Buy@Home Malaysia and Plaza Merdeka to exchange platforms and customer networks, thus creating synergy and adding value all around.

Buy@Home Malaysia gains the opportunity to expand its line-up of merchants with the current tenants at the Plaza Merdeka Mall, while Plaza Merdeka will be able to tap into a wider market via advertisements placed on Buy@Home Malaysia’s online portal.

“We have already reached out to a few of Plaza Merdeka’s tenants, including Burger King, Starbucks, Subway and so on. Some of them have agreed verbally to register as merchants on Buy@Home Malaysia, and of course, we are also looking to expand our radar to others such as Everrise at Plaza Merdeka,” she said.

Tang disclosed after launching its first Malaysian branch in Kuching on Sept 16, this year, Buy@Home Malaysia now has over 800 merchants and 220 registered riders.

According to her, the number of users of the Buy@Home application is growing between 1,000 to 2,000 per week.

“The one thing that differentiates us from other food delivery companies is that we strive to provide the best customer service. We always make sure that our riders are able to deliver the ordered food safely and on time because we want our customers to receive their food warm and within the targeted time.

“We also aim to deliver an outstanding customer experience for our users. If they were to receive incomplete or incorrect orders from the restaurants, which could happen at times, Buy@Home Malaysia will always provide a solution in the form of refunds, vouchers or discounts for future orders,” she added.

She pointed out that Buy@Home Malaysia offers the lowest delivery fee in town and serves up to 20-kilometer.

Tang explained currently, the team is working on expanding its delivery coverage to Petra Jaya and Kota Samarahan which is expected to be implemented by end of the year.

“One characteristic of Buy@Home is that users get to enjoy different food from multiple restaurants in order, with a one-time delivery fee.

“That is the good thing about Buy@Home. Users do not have to spend a lot on delivery fees just because they are placing multiple orders. We also have this promotion now whereby the delivery fee is only RM0.99 for deliveries within 10 kilometer,” she added.

Buy@Home is an online food ordering platform that connects people with the best local restaurants, cafes, food stalls and eateries. It was first established in Perth, Australia in 2016 and thereafter in other major Australian cities including Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane. In 2018, Buy@Home expanded its reach to New Zealand, followed by China and Malaysia. Buy@Home mobile application is now available in Google Play, AppStore and Huawei AppGallery. –DayakDaily.
