KUCHING, Oct 2: Registration for active businesses eligible for the special one-off RM10,000 cash aid under the Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang (BKSS) 7.0 package will be open starting Oct 7.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, in announcing this, said that business owners will need to submit certain information to obtain a Sarawak ID before receiving the aid.
“Business owners are required to register online to obtain a Sarawak ID.
“Necessary information have to be uploaded in digital format through Sarawak government portal (www.sarawak.gov.my) which will be made available on Oct 7,” he said in his weekly Facebook live session today.
He thus urged local companies registered with Social Security Organisation (Socso) to apply and watch out for any incoming emails pertaining to the financial aid.
Meanwhile, Wee said the Sarawak Rental Assistance Scheme (SRAS) is already open to those currently renting in Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri.
SRAS is a rental assistance scheme of RM200 per month, for 36 months or three years’ maximum, as announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in the Sarawak State Budget 2021 in November, 2020.
The application is open to all Sarawakians whose household income not exceeding RM2,131 per month.
