Her impassioned rendition of the evergreen classic Berdiri Bulu Roma Ku stood out as one of the night’s most stirring moments, proving why her music continues to resonate across generations.

At 67, affectionately known as Bunda Hetty by her fans, she once again proved her status as a true living legend, one who embodies musical excellence, cultural pride, and an enduring emotional connection with her audience.

The evening also celebrated Sarawak’s homegrown talent as Hetty shared the stage with versatile performers including Bob Yusof, Rickie Andrewson, Rosiana Urai, rising stars Aleysha and Ryan Zachary, and Miri’s own Abiyy. Together, they created a musical journey that bridged eras and genres, weaving nostalgia with fresh voices.

The event, organised by Borneo SuperAct Events (BSE), succeeded in blending timeless elegance with a dynamic showcase, leaving the audience with melodies to cherish.

In line with its charitable spirit, BSE founder and owner Datuk Eddie Abdullah presented a donation of RM6,000 to Persatuan Sokongan Kanser Payudara Miri (PERSOPAM), a local breast cancer support group.

The concert was graced by Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah as guest of honour. Also in attendance were Telang Usan assemblyman and Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) chairman Dato Dennis Ngau, Miri Residen Galong Luang, Miri City Council (MCC) Deputy Mayor Ariffin Mohamad, and MTCP permanent secretary Datu Sherrina Hussaini.

The concert was supported by MTCP through an event grant, reaffirming its commitment to fostering arts and culture in Sarawak. — DayakDaily
