KUCHING, Nov 10: The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) places emphasis on officers with multi-disciplinary traits and Knowledge, Skill, and Ability (KSA) when recognising leaders, according to Bukit Aman, Commercial Crime and Investigation Department Director, Police Commissioner Dato Sri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf.

Ramli emphasised that these qualities set a candidate apart and make them a better fit for leadership positions.

He commended the new Sarawak Commissioner of Police, Dato Mancha Ata, for possessing these qualities and being an expert in the operational field of police work.

“Everybody in the PDRM knew his operational abilities as a commando who played his part in the Lahad Datu Standoff 2023 incident and before this,” he revealed.

These remarks were made after the handover duty ceremony for the new Sarawak Police Commissioner at the Senior Officers Mess of the Sarawak Police Headquarters today.

Ramli also disclosed that the outgoing Commissioner of Police Sarawak, Datuk Mohd Azman Sapri Abang Ahmad, is an officer of exceptional quality and high integrity.

“Mohd Azman is an officer who is a law expert, and the subject is always at his fingertips. He has been my advisor and to many Inspector General Police before.

“As such, he deserved and is qualified for his new post as Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Director,” said Ramli.

The ceremony also marks the official appointment of Sarawak Deputy Commissioner of Police Datuk Ibrahim Darus. — DayakDaily
