MIRI, May 23: A local man was found dead in the room of a budget hotel on Saturday morning, with several drug-related paraphernalia found next to his body.
According to Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, the discovery was made around 9am today by the hotel staff.
“They immediately informed police of the discovery,” he said.
Preliminary investigations were carried out with no signs of violence found on the body.
“We believe that the 41-year-old man died on Friday (May 22) prior to the discovery,” he said.
The body has been taken to Miri hospital morgue for post-mortem.
The case has been classified as sudden death.—DayakDaily
