BETONG, Oct 4: Betong Member of Parliament (MP) Dr Richard Rapu has called for a bigger allocation in the Federal Budget 2025 to empower schools, hospitals, and clinics in rural areas.
According to a report by TVS, he said that such allocations are important to ensure the conditions of rural schools, hospitals, and clinics are conducive to providing services to the community.
He also said the government needs to prioritise allocations for maintenance activities to avoid schools, hospitals and clinics being categorised as dilapidated in the future.
“For schools, maintenance allocation is very important. If there is no maintenance fund, the school will become dilapidated.
“Thus, the government must give a budget that ensures that every facility is always in good condition,” he said when met by the media after the 2023 SPM Excellence Appreciation Ceremony and Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) Betong’s Academic Excellence Day for Semester 1 2024 today. — DayakDaily
