Buddha Jade Mural at San Seng Tong’s Buddhism Culture and Education Centre to be completed mid-July

KUCHING, July 9: The Buddha Jade Mural installation at San Seng Tong Buddhist Association’s Centre of Buddhism Culture and Education located in Kenyalang Park will be completed by middle of this month.

Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian said upon completion, the mural will be a local and tourist attraction for Buddhist and non-Buddhist visiting Kuching.

“Installation of this 14-tonne, few hundred pieces of jade carvings with 280 statues, 5,000 words of Buddhist verses including two black ‘Kuching’ by four master artisans from China since beginning of July will be completed by middle of July,” he said in a Facebook post today.

The San Seng Tong’s Centre for Buddhism Culture and Education project is an expansion of the San Seng Tong Temple.

The four-storey building consists of a main shrine, kindergarten, youth centre, meditation room, bedrooms and a multipurpose hall. — DayakDaily
