Boy with special needs feared drowned at Sg Baleh

Search and rescue operations by firefighters, police and villagers for Selvester.

KAPIT, Sept 14: Search efforts are underway after an eight-year-old boy was feared drown at Sungai Baleh.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department, in a statement, said the incident was reported at 6.15pm, yesterday.

A search-and-rescue operation by firefighters and police personnel from Kapit was launched immediately.


Based on their initial investigation, Selvester Erukson Burung was last seen heading to the Rh Gawan Lepong river for a swim before he went missing.

Selvester is a child with special needs. His shirt and pants were found lying on the river bank.

At press time, efforts to locate the victim have been unsuccessful. — DayakDaily
