Borneo International School students triumph at National Robotics Open Competition 2025

KUCHING, Nov 2: Sarawak once again shone on the national stage as two of its students, Matthew Cheong Zhen Yi and Timothy Cheong Zhen Shi, emerged champions in the Robomission Rookie category at the National Robotics Open Competition (NROC) 2025.

According to a press release, the duo, who are from Borneo International School, were among the 189 participants across 63 teams representing institutions from all corners of Malaysia and competing across four categories.

Held at Segi University in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 1, the competition served as a vital platform for nurturing students’ aptitude in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

It focused on the development of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), the ability to solve problems through creativity and innovation, and the essential skill of teamwork. — DayakDaily
