KUCHING, Nov 17: A ‘bomoh’ who allegedly caressed a woman’s private parts ‘to cure diseases’ was remanded for four days to facilitate investigations.
The 52-year-old man, said to be well known in Kampung Muara Tebas and reportedly helped many people to settle their problems and sicknesses, was arrested on Thursday afternoon.
He was arrested after a 30-year-old woman lodged a police report against him. The woman, one of his patients who had sought treatment from him, said she was sexually molested by the ‘bomoh’ last Saturday.
It was learnt that the ‘bomoh’ was invited to cure the woman’s sickness using traditional methods at her house.
The ‘bomoh’ first asked the victim to close her eyes so he could begin his treatment. He later asked the victim to go inside a room where he touched her private parts and even kissed her on the lips after caressing her breasts.
The woman, after talking to a few other women who also claimed they had been molested by the ‘bomoh’ in such a way ‘to chase away the evil spirit’, decided to lodge a police report.
The ‘bomoh’ has no previous criminal record and tested negative for drugs. He has reportedly claimed to be innocent. — DayakDaily
