KUCHING, Oct 20: Swift action from firefighters prevented a fire from spreading to shop lots at Jalan Padungan.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, they received a call at 11.29pm last night (Oct 19) regarding the incident and deployed firefighters from Bomba Padungan to the location.
Upon arrival, the operations commander reported that a fire broke out outside one of the shops, which destroyed the display table and proceeded to extinguish the flames to prevent it from spreading.
Following that, Sarawak Energy personnel later inspected the electrical wiring at the building to ensure that it was safe.
No casualties were reported in the incident. — DayakDaily
