Bomba Sarawak director commends department on empowering integrity

KUCHING, Sept 12: Integrity usually means doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching.

For this, Fire and Rescue (Bomba) Sarawak director Khirudin Drahman said every firefighter and department staff must build a sense of duty and culture that encourages integrity, trust and responsibility.

“Honesty, sincerity, keeping promises, not easily influenced, speaking the truth and other positive traits or values are among them. The unwavering commitment to protect and serve is a reflection of the selfless dedication and persistent courage of each and every individual it is privileged to call its own,” Khirudin said at the department’s Integrity Program recently.


In order to be a a high performance organization, he said that high standards of ethical conduct must be maintained at all times.

Khirudin also commended the department in Sarawak for being aggressive in its efforts to empower integrity in every function and all its units.

Guest of honour Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip gave a presentation on the consequences of corruption affecting mankind, nation and the world.

Talib assured that the ministry is committed in their efforts to strengthen integrity in service public especially with Bomba Sarawak.

“Such collaboration between the ministry and department will build a resilience community in combating corruptions. We see this effort as a long term investment in shaping our personnel,” Khirudin added.

Among those present at the event were Sarawak State Integrity and Ombudsman Unit director Adana Jed and deputy director Bomba Sarawak Zainal Madasin. — DayakDaily
