KUCHING, Sept 21: Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) personnel successfully rescued a mentally unstable man who was found trapped on the roof of a warehouse in Samalaju, Bintulu this morning.
According to a Bomba report, the Samalaju fire station received a distress call regarding the incident at 10.47am and a team of five firefighters led by Jackson Gong Jumput was immediately dispatched to the scene, located about 5km from the station.

Upon arrival at 10.53am, the team discovered an adult man on the second-floor roof of the warehouse building.
The operation commander instructed firefighters, together with police personnel, to approach and persuade the man to come down safely.
After several attempts, the man finally agreed to climb down on his own without incident.
The man was later handed over to police for further action.
The operation ended at 11.30am after the situation was confirmed to be safe.
Also involved in the operation were Samalaju police, BDA auxiliary police and warehouse security. — DayakDaily
