Bomba carries out disinfection, flushing operations in Kuching, Kota Samarahan, Spaoh and Betong

KUCHING, April 2: The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) is going all out to disinfect selected public areas with local council and Ministry of Health personnel to curb the transmission of Covid-19.

Today, two teams of firefighters conducted sanitation operations at the government buildings in Simpang Tiga, Kuching and Kota Samarahan.

State Bomba assistant director (operations) Tiong Ling Hii said the contamination were carried out in all exterior areas of the buildings, carpark and guard house.


He added that a total of 60 litres of disinfection solution was used at both venues.

Since March 30, the department has conducted such operations in several districts statewide — Kuching (6 operations), Samarahan (2), Sarikei (3), Sibu (1) and Limbang (1).

Among the venues identified were open air markets (3), government buildings (5), religious buildings (3) and one each for supermarket and housing area.
