Body parts of suspected crocodile attack victim in Sarikei found

KUCHING, March 20: Body parts believed to belong to a man reported missing at Sg Mekam-Sare in Sarikei, yesterday, were found floating at the river.

Search and Rescue (SAR) personnel found the human parts late morning today, a few kilometres from where the victim was last seen, the Fire and Rescue Department said in a statement.

It was reported that the victim had went to the riverbank on Thursday morning and was seen bitten and dragged away by a crocodile. Authorities were immediately notified of the incident to start a SAR operation.

“The Search and Rescue team found the right leg and the organs of the victim floating along the river approximately 3 kilometres away from the scene where the deceased got dragged at 11am,” the department said.

SAR personnel found more body parts of the victim as they continue the operation.

The body parts have been handed over to the police. — DayakDaily
