Body of Myanmar national found two days after fall into Sejingkat Terminal river

KUCHING, Dec 16: The body of a Myanmar national who fell into the river at Sejingkat Terminal has been recovered, marking the conclusion of a two-day search and rescue (SAR) operation.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported that the victim, identified as 49-year-old Win Kyaw Paik, was discovered floating about 4 kilometres from the site of his fall around 10.15am today.

The body was retrieved and handed over to the police by 11.30am for further action.

Win Kyaw Paik, a crew member of a container ship, reportedly fell into the river at around 12.10am on Dec 15 while crossing a bridge leading to the vessel.

The incident was first reported to Bomba by a security guard at the terminal. –DayakDaily
