Body of missing man found after being reportedly attacked by crocodile in Lawas

KUCHING, May 27: The body of a man who was reported to have been snatched by a crocodile in Lawas on Friday (May 26) has been found intact today.

According to a report from Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak operation centre, the deceased, identified as Yambuna Yading, 51, was found floating in Sungai Patarikan, Merapok by Search and Rescue (SAR) operation members at 9.53am today.

“The body was found within a 1km radius from where the victim was last seen and was brought to the Bomba operation centre nearby before being handed over to the police for further action,” it said.


Yesterday, the deceased was reported to have been snatched by a crocodile in Sungai Patarikan in Merapok during a fishing trip with family members.

Following that, family members who witnessed the incident made a police report and Bomba Lawas was deployed for the SAR operation. — DayakDaily
