KUCHING, Jan 6: The body of a man reported missing last week has been discovered in Sungai Batang Lupar, Sri Aman, authorities confirmed.

According to a report by TVS, Sri Aman district police chief, Superintendent Dennis Bunyam, said the victim, identified as 63-year-old Celsus Khaw Choon Seng, was found by a search and rescue team at around 12.10pm today.

“Preliminary identification by the victim’s family confirmed that the body belongs to the individual reported missing,” he said.

Khaw was last seen wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt, dark long trousers, and Brook-brand slippers. His last known address was No. 28, Level 2, Block C, Ensyn Apartment, Jalan Ensing, Batu Kawa, Kuching.

The case has been classified as sudden death pending a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. The body has been sent to the Forensic Department at Sri Aman II Hospital for further examination.
