MIRI, Oct 9: A 74-year-old man was found, lying motionless with his face down inside a room at his house in Krokop on Wednesday morning (Oct 9).
According to sources, prior to the discovery, neighbours had noticed a strong odour coming from the premises before alerting the police.
The cause of the death has not been confirmed as of press time.
Police personnel and firefighters from Miri fire station received the alert around 9am.
Upon arrival at the scene, the firefighters had to cut through the lock of the entrance gate to the house in order to gain access onto the property.
It is understood that the man’s wife and daughter were travelling out of town at the time.
The remains of the deceased have been handed over to the police for further investigations.
